It doesn't exactly say so in the listing, but this rod consists of 9 metal pieces (rods), plus one 1/2 piece. You simply screw enough rods together to achieve the length you need. Problem may be for some people is this: the measurements of the rods (plus the 1/2 rod) might not fit the exact length you need. You might come up about 3-4 inches short. Or 3-4 inches too long. The rods are heavy-duty painted metal-- no problem there. Each end has a rubber cap, rather than a decorative finial. One advantage is that the curtain rings (mine are grommets) slide across the rod nicely, unlike standard curtain rods, which tend to "catch" at the middle extension joint. I'm using this rod on a sunporch, so it'll work fine. However, if you're planning to order this rod for a fancier room, all the screw marks on the rods might not give you the look you desire.Overall, very happy with everything. One issue. Only one shorter tube half the length of the rest so I was unable to get the exact length I wanted. Would be nice to have another tube about one half the length of the sorter tube.I ordered 5 of one size and 4 of a larger size, The smaller size was missing one piece about 8" long. Please send asap so that I can complete my projectOrdering a lengthy curtain rod through the mail made me a bit leery about the expectation of how it would arrive but I was so surprised to see it come in a compact box. When I opened it, it was broken down into several pools to connect to each other to make the length I was needing. Each pole was individually bagged in plastic to keep them from scarring each other in shipment. The quality of the product is great and strong. The hardware to hang the rod is very great quality as well, strong and sturdy. I'm very impressed and will order through this company for my future curtain rod needs moving forward. I very highly recommend!The rods adjusted so easily with a sturdiness great for drapes . The drapes fit nicely with great feel.The best is the truly block out the heat but still the room a cool inviting look. Love them . They did did to be be steamed to get a crisp look but not difficult and would definitely buy again.We thought this rod was "telescoping" up to 120", but this actually comes in around 14" segments that screw together. It so happens that we needed no longer than 102", as the window is a bay window with 90 degree walls jutting out from each side. We thought a return was going to be necessary, but 7 pieces fit perfectly with a couple inches on each side. We also bent the bracket a bit and mounted the bracket to the ceiling of the bay window unit because the window trim is uneven. It's being used for sheer panels so the weight of this rod works beautifully for our needs. The pic shows just the corner of where we had to install (as well as our bay-type window in the dining room before sheer was added).Arrived in good packaging and couldn't be happier with the product. Came in 4 pieces so it's nice to be able to make it slightly smaller so it fits better and it's very sturdy which helps with kids and animals who like to pull on the curtains.Best curtain rod ever! Easy to assemble, & put up! Love it!!
