Absolutely black out curtains and doesn’t let the sun in. I use it for the back porch sliding glass doors which let in a lot of light and blinds me from high noon till around 4 pm. But now with these Curtains I no longer have to wear my sunglasses in the house to block the sun ! Other than that, these curtains black out just enough light to NOT wake me (or others) in the mornings! I'd say that these greyish white curtains block about 90% of the sunlight that comes into my guest bedroom. Oh, and the silver floral design on them is a very nice touch as well.
